Biography
PhD Mzia Kokhia is an associated researcher of the Institute of Zoology at Ilia State University. Her research interests are soil inhabitants, fauna and their biodiversity, studying the earthworm’s lifestyle and their role in the vermitechnology process; organic farming, entomopathogenic and parasitic nematodes in the biological control of insects. The research activities deal with insect pest pathogens in crops, ornamental and woody plants in urban areas and forests.
Earlier she studied Diplopods and their biodiversity in Georgia. At the same time, she is interesting by developing the Rural Tourism in Georgia. She has 50 years of experience in field experiments and project-related biological control, and soil fauna diversity research.
She has been a member of the Board of the NGO “International Center for Caucasus Tourism” (ICCT), which is actively involved in the development and dissemination of both rural tourism and organic farming in Georgia.
She has about 100 scientific publications and has research experience.
