Circular Bioeconomy, Agri Waste Valorisation and Bioenergy

The bioeconomy is the part of the economy that uses renewable biological resources, such as crops, forests, animals and microorganisms, to produce food, materials, chemicals and energy. A circular bioeconomy aims to keep these resources in use for as long as possible and to turn waste from one process into raw material for another. Agriculture and forestry generate large quantities of residues such as straw, husks, stalks, fruit peels, sawdust, manure and processing by-products. Valorisation means converting these residues into products of higher value, such as compost, biochar, biogas, bioethanol, animal feed, biodegradable materials and natural extracts. This reduces pollution from burning or dumping waste and creates new income for farmers and rural industries.
